About the Artist

Cristin Ford

Emerging artist Cristin Ford works out of Everett, WA.  Her PlastiCity is a continuation of her ongoing study of grid systems found in man-made and natural formations.  A 2006 graduate of Cornish College of the Arts, Cristin uses the window to frame a segmented landscape and appropriates the visual language of maps in her PlastiCity.  The art piece navigates a speculative city rising out of singularly contemporary challenges to the human habitat: abundance and misuse of synthetic materials, sprawling and ultimately unstable modes of development, and the ability to view our progress at a potentially objective distance.
