Tim Detweiler

Tim Detweiler has spent the past eighteen years working in museums and arts organizations. For the last seven years he has focused on advocating for Northwest artist in his roles as the Executive Director of the Museum of Northwest Art and the James & Janie Washington Foundation.  He has consistantly pushed for more recognition in the art world of Northwest artists of the past and present. 

Tim Detweiler teaches in the University of Washington’s Museum Studies Certificate Program on Exhibit Design and Planning. He has also worked at the Chesapeake Maritime Museum, the Reading Public Museum, the Washington State History Museum, and the Museum of Flight.

Born in Connecticut and raised in Pennsylvania, Tim has been part of the Northwest art scene since he moved to the Northwest in 1997. His wife, Michelle Bufano, runs Chihuly Garden and Glass.
